E da felicidade do David Sylvian e da Ingrid Chavez nasceram 3 filhos e uma obra-prima sobre o amor.
David Sylvian, hoje pai de família, foi, nos anos 70 e 80, um sex symbol. Líder dos Japan - banda que contou também com o seu irmão Steve Jansen na bateria ( k andou a tocar com a Anna Garbarek e o Perry Blake) - David Sylvian tinha já nessa altura uma paixão pelo mundo oriental.
Este é e sempre foi o meu eleito.
A música que se segue vem no caminho da sua comunhão com os pressupostos do Budismo.
Dead Bees On a Cake é o nome do álbum, que conta com a participação de vários músicos já seus parceiros de outras viagens, como Ryuichi Sakamoto, Talvin Singh, Marc Ribot, Bill Frisell, e Ingrid Chavez (sua esposa), entre outros.

Five years in the making, Dead Bees explores the hazy intersection between corporeal existence and spirituality. At its basis is a pilgrimage into the worlds of Hinduism and Buddhism. Go up a layer and one encounters an awakening to the importance and meaning of family—a realm he’s intimately connected with since his 1992 marriage to poet and singer Ingrid Chavez. Dead Bees is truly a period album. It's unlikely that Sylvian, now 41 and the father of three, could have explored these themes with such nuance and depth previously—such is the impact of his recent personal, spiritual and artistic growth.
